FDR Presidential Library and Museum

Yesterday, some classmates and I visited FDR's home and presidential library in Hyde Park. It was such a wonderful trip! The best part was the packets we received on how to teach the New Deal and such to future students. Here are some pictures from our trip (click to enlarge)...

View from the train:
The enormous mosaic map of the original Hyde Park Estate landscape, on the floor of the educational center:
The mansion:
 A statue of young FDR:
An entrance hall detail:
FDR's living room - that is his real wheelchair on the left!
A photo of FDR and his beloved Scottie Fala:
A few of the original documents on his bedroom wall, signed by people such as Winston Churchill:
View from the backyard (apparently he used to hide into the woods to mess with the Secret Service, heh):
Apparently the Roosevelts had a horse named New Deal!
Sara Roosevelt's rose garden, where FDR is buried:
My second favorite FDR quote (the first being "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself," which is FDR and not Churchill thankyouverymuch):
And Grand Central Station on the way home (not my photo):

Have a great weekend!
